Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA)

Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) to join our team. The CHHA will play a crucial role in providing essential personal care and support to our clients, promoting their independence and well-being.

Responsibilities
  • Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Provide assistance with mobility, transfers, and positioning to ensure client safety and comfort.
  • Administer medication reminders and assist with medication management as directed by healthcare professionals.
  • Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and hydration according to clients' dietary needs and preferences.
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organization of client's living space.
  • Document care provided and report any changes in clients' condition to the supervising nurse or healthcare team.
  • Provide companionship, emotional support, and social interaction to enhance clients' quality of life.
Qualifications
  • Current certification as a Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in New Jersey.
  • Previous experience in home health care or a similar setting is preferred but not required.
  • Compassionate and empathetic nature with a genuine desire to help others.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow care plans and work collaboratively with the healthcare team.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.

Required documentations
  • Health attestation form, reflecting the results for Mantoux tuberculin skin test(TB) as well as rubella and rubeola(1957 or later) immunization or serologic evidence of immunity(blood test).
  • Proof of Hepatitis B vaccine (bloodwork/health attestation form) or declination of vaccine.
  • Annual Physical Exam by an MD, within 12 months of employment start date.
    Recent copy of your driver’s license report within the last 12 months.
  • Motor vehicle insurance.
  • Any certifications or degrees you may have earned, including CPR.
  • Minimum three professional references.
  • Background check.
